The main objective is to depollute and improve the quality of soil and groundwater in the Titu-Boteni area by bringing the values of pollutants within normal limits (according to standards). The main pollutants are those of petroleum origin, respectively kerosene and diesel from the exploitation of fuel households both for the supply of the power station and the thermal power plant, and for the supply of aircraft belonging to the military unit that carried out its activity on that location.
In order to achieve these priorities, the following types of works have been provided through this project:
- emptying, cleaning the fuel storage tanks and removing them from the site;
- removal of all fuel transport infrastructures, respectively pumping stations, concrete manholes, foundations and trestle support poles;
- remediation and bioremediation of contaminated soil;
- remediation and bioremediation of groundwater.
