Within the project “Development of the integrated management plan for ROSCI0109 Timișului meadow and ROSPA0095 Macedonia forest”, financed by SOP ENVIRONMENT Axis 4, the implementation of activities allowed the completion of the level of knowledge to meet the requirements for the implementation of the Birds and Habitats Directives the species for which ROSCI0109 Timisului meadow and ROSPA0095 Macedonia forest have been designated protected areas.
The works contract services included:
- ensuring project management
- inventory, evaluation of conservation status
- establishing the conservation strategy for various species in protected areas
- creating the GIS database
- mapping the habitats of the target species
- elaboration and approval of the integrated management plan of the targeted areas
Following the implementation of the project, the conservation status of species and habitats of community importance in the targeted areas has been improved and the level of awareness and information of local communities/authorities on the importance of biodiversity and natural heritage protection has been increased.
