Romair Consulting will supervise the largest infrastructure modernization work of the “George Enescu” International Airport in Bacau, considered the most “modern and chic” airport in the North-East Region.
Romair Consulting, as an association leader, signed on 11.12.2019 the contract with the “George Enescu” Bacău International Airport for technical assistance and site management services for “Increasing load-bearing capacity and modernization of the runway and surfaces related to the “George Enescu” Bacău” International Airport.
Through the implementation of the project, the “George Enescu” International Airport will benefit from modernization works of the airport infrastructure that will contribute both to the sustainable economic development of Bacău County and the North-East Region, and to the achievement of the objective of promoting a sustainable transport in Romania, in conditions of safety and efficiency, for people and goods, at the level of services at European standards.
In short, Romair Consulting will act as Supervisor for the execution of the contract having as main object the modernization of the runway that will allow the landing of heavy aircraft, ensuring the accessibility of the area by attracting new operators and offering a high number of flights operated directly to a number. increased by requested destinations in Europe.
The project contributes to the achievement of the specific objective OS 2.3 of the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014 – 2020 – Increasing the sustainable use of airports, as it aims to develop and improve the air transport system of one of the 21 airports in Romania, facilitating the expected passenger flow in 2023 in Romania of 20 million passengers, respectively the increase of the volume of passengers transited through Romanian airports.
The contract has a value of 1,035,000 lei without VAT, with a maximum duration of 18 months for services for supervising the execution of works, to which is added a maximum of 96 months – the period of notification of defects.
